Bidding Notice of CPTM Lines 8 and 9

The Government of the State of São Paulo (Brazil) through the Metropolitan Transport Secretariat (STM) announces the International Bidding nº 01/2020 for the Concession of Lines 8 and 9 of CPTM – a browfield concession for investment, operation and maintence, also including supply of rolling stock, modernization of stations and signaling system.  

The CPTM Lines 8 and 9 are an urban trains with a consolidated commercial operation and a reliable historical demand (with contractual protection mechanism), which carries over 1 million passengers per day. Its 78,6 Km extension has 42 Stations (38 existing and 4 new ones).  

The contractual term of 30 years and BRL$ 3,05 billion of investment (8 years). 

The concessionaire revenues are generated through contractual technical tariff per passenger transported, and the auction criteria is the highest upfront concession fees.  

The main investment include new fleet acquisition (34 trains); reform of existing stations and construction of a new one; and investment in signaling. 

 

The Auction will be held on March 2nd, 2021, until 3 p.m. in public session at B3’s head office, located at at Praça Antônio Prado, on the corner of Rua João Bricola, Centro, São Paulo/SP.
