Valor Econômico - 02/15/2008

Ceva Logistics will practically double the size of its distribution center in Jundiaí, in the countryside of São Paulo, until the end of the first half of this year. To do so, it will invest R$ 15 million (US$ 8.5 million) with its own funds. Currently, the distribution center occupies 15 thousand square meters, with 10 thousand pallet positions and 120 employees. After the investments, it will have an area of 25 thousand square meters, 21 thousand pallet positions and 200 employees. The company will use it for the storage of electronic products, consumer goods and office supplies. The beginning of the works is scheduled for next week. According to Ceva's Business Development Officer for South America Paulo Franceschini the improvement is part of the strategy to grow 10% a year until 2011. In 2007, the sales of the logistics operator was R$ 430 million (US$ 244.3 million), 10% superior than the previous year's. "We will focus on the retail sector, in addition to our strong point that is the car sector, in order to achieve the goal", Franceschini justifies.
