The municipality is developing an app to guide tourists in the city inns

The so-called Experiential Travel is a hallmark of the city of São José do Barreiro, in Serra da Bocaina, as defined by mayor José Serafim, during his visit to Investe São Paulo, held on April 15. There, amid the exuberant Atlantic Forest, waterfalls and rich biodiversity, visitors are greeted in a special way, according to the inn they choose.

“The difference is that the innkeeper welcomes the tourists and guide them according to their profile. If they want adventure, they will be directed to places with this approach. If they want to enjoy contemplative tourism and rest, they will have what they want. Everything always with personalized service so that tourists have unforgettable experiences,” said Serafim.

The mayor visited the president of Investe SP, Juan Quirós, because he intends to attract more investments from the hotel sector to the city. “We don’t want industries, but hotels. I’m sure that global hotel chains will be interested in knowing our vocations,” said the mayor.

Juan Quirós opened the doors of Investe SP to the city: “Our radars will be watching the investments that fit the profile of São José do Barreiro,” he said.

Innovation

The mayor informed that, soon, São José do Barreiro will have an app that will guide tourists to the 36 city inns, according to their own profile: “We have 600 beds and attractions, such as the waterfalls of Santo Isidro, Esmeralda, the farms Pau D’Alho and da Barra, and plenty of adventure tourism, in addition to the rich cuisine of the region. But everything always with a unique service so as to provide an unforgettable experience to the visitor”.

The mayor explained that São José do Barreiro is experiencing a period of expansion in both tourism and its economy. “We have, for example, a potential market for hostels. We are also open to welcome training courses in tourism.”
