“This is what the governor reminds us every day:to attract investments that create jobs, jobs and more jobs,” said the president of Investe SP

On August 28, the president of Investe São Paulo, Juan Quirós, represented the governor Geraldo Alckmin at the inauguration ceremony of the cornerstone of Galderma’s new plant in Hortolândia, an investment of R$ 200 million that generated 300 direct jobs . The Swiss plant will increase by six times its production of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, which was highlighted by Juan Quirós as the confirmation of the growth potential of the market in São Paulo.

“This is what the governor reminds us every day: to attract investments that create jobs, jobs and more jobs,” said Juan Quirós, who congratulated the company for the investment and reminded that Investe SP is a few weeks from beating, in 2015, its performance in the attraction of companies reported in 2014.

Galderma’s director Luis Lenski talked about the credibility of the company’s products and the vice-mayor of Hortolândia, Renata Belufe, congratulated the company for investing in the city.

Scheduled to start operations in 2018, the new plant will create approximately 450 indirect jobs and will have capacity to produce approximately 64 million units per year, an increase of 640% compared to the current volume. Cetaphil, Daylong Sunscreens and medicines such as Loceryl and Mirvaso are some of the products manufactured in the new plant, which will cover a total area of 48,000 m², with 16,000 m² of built area. To meet the higher production volume, the unit will have the number of employees tripled compared to the current operation.

For 20 years in Brazil, Galderma has 500 employees. The company’s plant in Hortolândia is the second largest in terms of size in the world. The company has units in Switzerland, Canada, France and Germany and is part of the holding Nestlé Skin Health, whose CEO, Humberto Antes, stated that Brazil is currently the world’s third largest global market for dermatological products.
