P&G inaugurates expansion in Louveira and recognizes the role of Investe SP

The company, which is the largest producer of consumer goods in the world, invested R$ 360 million in the expansion of its plant in the city

The role of Investe SP team was highlighted at the inauguration ceremony of P&G’s plant expansion by the top management of the multinational company, which provided, on July 23, an investment of R$ 360 million in Louveira, expected to generate at least 200 direct jobs. P&G is the world’s largest consumer goods company, with six plants in Brazil, two in São Paulo. The event was attended by the governor Geraldo Alckmin; the mayor of Louveira, Nicolau Finamore Júnior; the president of Investe SP, Juan Quirós; the president of P&G in Brazil, Alberto Carvalho; the general manager of the company in Louveira, Marcelo Nery; the president of Global Operations, Julio Nemeth; the state secretary of environment, Patrícia Iglecias; among dozens of authorities.

The president Juan Quirós thanked the governor and the authorities for recognizing the work of Investe SP, emphasizing that teamwork is the agency’s trademark. The governor Geraldo Alckmin pointed out that Brazil and São Paulo need good news and recalled that the state records, so far, more than 30 investments, which will generate nearly 10,000 new jobs: “We need jobs, jobs and more jobs,” said the governor, noting that the verb to do is synonymous with the state of São Paulo.

The president of P&G in Brazil, Alberto Carvalho, made a retrospective of the company’s achievements and insisted on complimenting the entire industry team, which has 5,000 employees in the country. The manager Marcelo Nery made an emotional speech, also showing the steps and overcome challenges and highlighted the environmental benefits for the region. Julio Nemeth, president of Global Operations of P&G, said that out of the 78 plants of P&G that he recently visited, the plant in Louveira is among the three most efficient, because it manages to combine, at the same time, discipline, creativity and entrepreneurship.
