Yesterday, Exata Logística, a company of the Arex Group, informed that it ended last year with sales of R$ 60.5 million (US$ 34.4 million), which means an increase of 44% compared to the 2006 results.  The increase is the result of an expansion of services to companies such as Vivo and C&C, in addition to gaining new clients in the period. According to Exata's general manager Mauricio Pastorello, the company's intention is closing 2008 with sales of R$ 80 million (US$ 45.5 million) and, for the following year, reaching R$ 100 million (US$ 56.8 million). For such, the logistics operator will continue with the strategy of focusing on the small and average contracts - which range from R$ 200 thousand (US$ 113.6 thousand) to R$ 2 million (US$ 1.14 million) a year - and on the increase of the service areas. The company currently has 14 warehouses spread through the Southern, Southeastern, Midwestern and Northern regions of the country. Another possibility, yet to be confirmed by him, is starting operating in the Northeast with the opening of six warehouses. For this year, the foregone company's own investments are R$ 3 million (US$ 1.7 million) and they will be restricted to technology and internal handling equipment. Transport services, which represent 50% of the income of the company, are made with partners such as the Expresso Araçatuba (from the Arex Group), Rapidão Cometa, and Mercúrio. The other 50% of the income refer to the stock management, process, and storage services. According to Pastorello, the expectation is extending the participation of the logistics services in the company's income. In 2007, Exata's net income was R$ 6 million (US$ 3.4 million), or 10% of its sales. Besides Exata and Expresso Araçatuba, the Arex Group also owns the Golden Cargo, which is specialized in the transport of agricultural-chemical products.
