The idea is to use the area covering 7 million square meters to expand the local airport

On July 14, the president of Investe São Paulo, Juan Quirós, welcomed the mayor of Lins, Edgar de Souza, who intends to develop a business hub near the airport of the city, which has 84,000 inhabitants and is located in the sixth exporting region of the state of São Paulo. Quirós already requested the Agency’s technicians to study the potential of the area allocated to the project, which covers 7 million square meters, including the possibility of expansion of the airport, which currently covers 1,700 meters in length.

“We will measure the available area, considering the restriction area surrounding the airport and conduct a survey to find out the vocations of the region together with the municipality. Thus, we will be able to help the mayor accomplish this project, which will generate many jobs and income to the city of Lins and the surrounding region,” said Juan Quirós, accompanied by the Director of Investment and Business, Ermínio Lucci.

The mayor also intends to build a ring road of nine kilometers, outlining the city, aiming to provide direct access to the future hub. Juan evaluated that Lins has a growing potential, mentioning, as an example, a local meat-packing company, which currently has 8,000 employees. In addition to advisors, the mayor was also accompanied by the businessman Sergio Correa, from Inovelede, interested in opening a plant in the city.

Juan Quirós scheduled the next meetings to address the revindication of Mayor Edgar de Souza, who was referred to Investe São Paulo by the governor Geraldo Alckmin.
