SP Negócios, a municipal company that promotes trade and investments in the state capital and Investe São Paulo, the investment promotion agency of the State Government, promoted on September 24 the launch of São Paulo Tech Week. Buscapé hosted the ceremony held at the company’s headquarters.

São Paulo Tech Week (SPTW) is a movement that will bring together, on November 3 to 9, initiatives and events related to technology and innovation in various parts of the city.

The schedule of the launch included, in addition to the presentation of the schedule and the details about the initiative, a panel with the participation of Bob Wollheim, digital head of Grupo ABC and founder of youPIX, Romero Rodrigues, founder of Buscapé Company and Guilherme Junqueira, Executive Director of the Brazilian Association of Startups.

Junqueira also made a presentation about CASE, the largest event of startups and entrepreneurship in Latin America, which this year will be part of SPTW.

The launch was broadcast live on the Periscope of Investe SP (@investesp), and the recording can be accessed at https://goo.gl/Bdp8IP.

“São Paulo is one of the world’s leading innovation ecosystems, bringing together international investors, large companies in the sector, creative spaces and world-class talents. SPTW aims to celebrate and enhance this innovation environment that is already established in São Paulo,” said the president of SP Negócios, Rodrigo Pirajá Wienskoski.

The company is a mixed capital company associated with the Municipal Department of Finance and Economic Development. SP Negócios has been promoting initiatives to stimulate the sector through Tech Sampa – a municipal policy to stimulate innovation. During the launch, the company’s presentations were made by Beatriz Guzmão, business director, and Michel Porcino, board advisor.

“The information and communications technology sector is a priority for us, because it generates innovation, skilled jobs and diversifies the economy,” said the president of Investe São Paulo, Juan Quirós.

The Investment Promotion Agency is associated with the Department of Development in Technology and Innovation and relies on the support from the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) in a project to attract foreign investors in this sector. During the launch, the Agency was represented by the Investment Manager Luís Arbex, who was also the master of ceremonies, and Thiago Messena.

To date, more than 20 events are already confirmed, bringing together partnerships with entities such as ABStartups, SebraeSP, Apex-Brazil, among other companies and associations related to technology and innovation.
