Figures reported by Investe SP encourage secretary Cláudio Valverde

The State of São Paulo, despite facing a period economic downturn, continues to attract investments and create jobs. The figures reported on August 26 at the Board of Directors’ Meeting of Investe São Paulo, impressed the Deputy Secretary of Development, Science, Technology and Innovation, Cláudio Valverde. “Sao Paulo is very promising due to the balanced management of the state government. And the work of Investe São Paulo is very important and should be supported,” said Valverde, sitting next to the State Secretary of Planning, Marcos Monteiro, also a Board member.

To date, August 26, 21 projects have been announced, which corresponds to a total investment of R$ 7.4 billion and resulted in the creation of 7,682 direct jobs. And for the second half, other 12 projects should be announced, totaling an investment of R$ 1.1 billion and more than 1,369 new job opportunities.

The total estimated number of projects announced this year should reach 33, with a total investment of R$ 8.5 billion and the creation of 9,051 jobs. And there are still 53 projects under negotiation, which amount to R$ 13.2 billion and 14,081 jobs.

The figures encouraged the members of the Board of Directors, who also attended a presentation about the Seminar of the Health Project, held on August 12, which seeks to involve the production chain to improve the services with technology, management and thus bring quality to public and private patients.

The estimated numbers of Investe São Paulo were presented by the Institutional Director Sérgio Costa. The Director of Investments, Ermínio Lucci, revealed the performance in the projects division and the details of the rendering of accounts regarding the management contract were listed by the new Director of Administration and Finance, Álvaro Sávio.

The president of Investe São Paulo, Juan Quirós, made an explanation on the progress of the new missions carried out by the Agency, especially the export incentives: “We will enter into an agreement with APEX seeking to provide training to producers from São Paulo to attract the foreign market,” said Juan, who is redesigning the Agency to meet the demands geared towards small and medium exporters.
