BNDES starts selecting fintechs for potential partnerships

Valor Internacional

The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) is trying to reinvent itself amid new priorities from the current administration and started taking the first steps in a new strategy for digital ventures. The state-owned lender will launch in Brasília this Wednesday with Sebrae, a small-business development service, a call for fintechs that can collaborate with Canal Desenvolvedor, a direct relationship channel with micro, small and midsize companies. The bank wants to turn the channel into a business platform not only dedicated to lending but also to provide services. BNDES will select the fintechs until March 15 and then run them through a concept-testing phase.
