SAPS invests in its first plant and already plans expansion

Solid materials processing company is formed by a partnership between Dynamic Air and Hosokawa Alpine Brasil and relies on the support from InvestSP

Formed by the union between Dynamic Air, a world leader in solids handling, and Hosokawa Alpine, a provider of solutions in the field of ultrafine particle processing technology, SAPS Ltda. (Advanced Solid Processing Services) invested R$ 8.5 million to build a plant in the city of Nazaré Paulista, located 90 km from the state capital.

The new plant is the third unit in the industrial complex shared by Dynamic Air and Hosokawa Alpine Brasil. At the unit, SAPS will provide outsourcing services for grinding, micronization and solid sorting, transforming primary materials into higher value-added raw materials, which enable, among other things, better performance of the ingredients.

With capacity to process up to 2,000 tons per month of raw material depending on the material to be handled, most of the equipment used in the operation was designed and produced by the joint team of Dynamic Air and Hosokawa Alpine. The technology of the machines imported was developed less than 3 years ago, bringing to Brazil the latest in terms of micronization. These are the same machines developed by Hosokawa Alpine that will be installed at its plant in Cologne, Germany.

“We are delivering an industrial solution to the Brazilian market that has the potential to leverage various businesses. When companies contract the processing of primary materials, they are optimizing their resources. We can say that we are bringing the idea of shared economy of mobile applications to the industry,” says the director of SAPS, Horacio Páez.

The investment in the unit was scaled after the operation of a pilot plant that indicated a demand for a larger plant. “The market for solid processing and analysis services exists and is good, our challenge at the moment is to make the service known by the industry. We have a positive expectation and the infrastructure required for very large growth in the coming years,” said Páez.

InvestSP provides tax support to the company in the import of its machinery. For the agency, investments such as that of SAPS are important because they raise the level of the supply chain in the state of São Paulo. The type of service that will be provided enables, for example, the reuse of waste from the pulp industry by the rubber industry, which enables a significant environmental gain.

The advanced processing of solids basically consists of reducing the size of raw materials, mainly by the grinding process. With the subsequent analysis and selection, it is possible to obtain different ingredients from the same source material.
