Investe São Paulo

Henniges Automotive, a multinational company of the automotive sector, opened in Jundiaí its first unit in Brazil. Approximately USD 30 million (about R$ 120 million) were invested in the plant implementation. About 300 direct jobs are estimated to be generated within the next three years.

The company was assisted by Investe SP, São Paulo's Investment Promotion Agency, during the unit construction in Jundiaí. Investe SP provided tax, infrastructure and environmental advice to the company. For the State of São Paulo, investments such as the Henniges are important to show that the automotive sector still has plenty of room to grow in the State of São Paulo.

Ronaldo Lemos, Chief Executive Officer, explains that the plant was initially set up in Brazil to serve GM, supplying sealing systems for the company's new global project to be launched in the second half of 2019.

"At full capacity, the plant will produce enough to assemble 1,400 vehicles a day, which is expected to occur still this year, in the second half. Thus, Henniges will have a workforce of 300 employees and high-tech equipment," said Lemos.

About the plant in Brazil

The plant has 11,000 m², of which 10,000 is production area and will serve GM do Brasil for now, however, it has technical capacity and space to also serve new clients. "Even reaching all production capacity to meet the new GM project, Henniges will still have 40% of the plant to serve other customers, with other projects. Depending on the demand, we have plans to build other plants in other cities," affirmed Lemos.

Raw material and environment

The raw material used in the sealing rubber production are also produced in Brazil through a partner, but with all the technology and formula of the US Henniges that does not harm the environment, which is one of the company's major concerns.

In Jundiaí, the plant was built with filters to avoid odors, it has been approved by CETESB and all leftover material is recycled, also by partners, and transformed into rubber mats and asphalt.
