Gühring, a leading manufacturer of rotary tools in the world, inaugurated on Tuesday, September 2, a new plant in Salto (SP). The plant, which also houses the company’s new headquarters, transferred from Diadema (SP), received an investment totaling six million euros. The general manager of Investe São Paulo, Wilson Soares, attended the inauguration event.

With the new plant, located on an area covering 14,000 square meters and 2,000 square meters of built area, the range of services of Gühring will be expanded. “We are revitalizing our area of regrinding services and coverage, including the incorporation of new services, such as the management area of tools, fastening equipment and logistics cabinets,” said the general director of the company in Brazil, Jorge Jerônimo.

“We took this opportunity to remind Gühring that Investe São Paulo is available to provide advice to the company free of charge in terms of tax, environmental and infrastructure issues. It will be a pleasure to provide assistance to such an important investment for the region,” said Wilson Soares.

According to Jerônimo, we have chosen the city of Salto for the investment mainly because of the logistics, infrastructure and education system available in the city. The benefits offered by the municipality also influenced the decision. The municipality has a unit of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo (IFSP).

In 2014, Gühring completes 25 years in Brazil. Over the past three years, the company achieved a market share of 57%, having sold over 700,000 tools in the Brazilian market. Approximately 55% of them were manufactured in the country.

With the new plant, the German company will start offering products and services slightly known or not available in Brazil. Special tools and new lines such as PCD, CBN, gun-drills and tools for MQL have been introduced.

“The new structure will allow us to explore the full potential of Gühring’s portfolio, which includes over 45,000 items, in addition to achieving the target for 2017 of gaining 20% market share of the Brazilian market for rotary tools,” said Jerônimo.
