CastFutura aims to increase sales by R$ 4 million per year

CastFutura, an Italian company established in the city of Valinhos since 2009, inaugurated on Wednesday, February 26, its new plant with double the size in comparison with its previous plant. With 2,200 square meters of built area and an investment of R$ 1.26 million, the company’s goal is to increase sales by R$ 4 million per year, from the current R$ 16 million reported in 2013 to R$ 20 million.

With the expansion, the Italian company will start manufacturing a new product, the thermocouple, a temperature sensor that is part of the safety system of stoves. The component prevents the gas from being released in case of malfunction of the appliance, thereby avoiding the risk of explosion and increasing safety.

According to the Industrial manager and company’s administrator in Brazil, Alexandro Claudio Mastellini, the idea at this stage is to achieve a production capacity of 300,000 units of thermocouples per month.“Brazil consumes approximately 800,000 thermocouples per month, and most of them are imported. To meet this demand, we are investing R$ 600,000 in equipment, which are already in operation, and we still have R$ 400,000 to be invested in new expansions. In addition, we have R$ 260,000 in the works for the adaptation of the new property,” he says.

The project includes the hiring of 20 new employees in the staff, which should comprise 70 employees by the end of the year.CastFutura also estimates that the suppliers in the region will hire more people to meet the needs of the Italian company. The CFO of the parent company, Andrea Zitello, attended the opening of the plant.

Investe São Paulo is providing assistance in the investment through the dialogue with government entities.“We want Castfutura to involve Investe São Paulo in its dreams to increasingly grow in the state. We are here to show that it is possible to do business and be innovative in Brazil,” said the agency director, Sérgio Costa, during the opening ceremony.

According to Mastellini, CastFutura chose Valinhos for its first plant in Brazil for being next to a major highway – Anhanguera Highway – which facilitates the logistics of distribution to its main clients, such as Whirlpool (owner of Consul and Brastemp), Mabe and Electrolux.“The region has good infrastructure, is next to the port of Santos and Viracopos airport,” he concludes.

At the event, the deputy mayor of Valinhos, Luiz Mayr Neto, highlighted the importance of the company to the municipality.“We have conducted an increasingly strong policy to stimulate the economic development of Valinhos. We are proud for being one of the cities with the best quality of life in the state and for being located in a strategic place of country,” he said.
