Brazil speeds up exports to Argentina

Valor Internacional

Brazil expanded its exports to Argentina in 2017 and consolidated the trend of recovering the slice lost to China in recent years. Brazilian shipments to the neighboring country last year grew 31.5%, at pace well above the 17.5% increase in China's exports to the same destination. With last year's performance, Brazil's share of exports to Argentina rose to 26.9% last year from 24.6% in 2016, while China's share fell slightly to 18.4% from 18.8%. Analysts expect 2018 shipments from Brazil to Argentina will continue to advance at a faster rate than China’s, albeit at slower pace.
