Better Beef invests R$ 84 million to expand meat production

Company modernizes slaughterhouse in Rancharia and Agropecuária in Presidente Bernardes with the support from Investe SP

Investe São Paulo

Seeking to expand and modernize its meat production, Better Beef initiated the works to expand its slaughterhouse in Rancharia (SP), the brand’s central unit in Brazil. The expansion, which involves an investment of R$ 20 million, is held in connection with the project to expand Agropecuária Vista Alegre, in Presidente Bernardes, where the cattle used by the brand are confined.

In order to seek support in the dialogue with public entities and strategic information essential to both projects, the company entered into a partnership with Investe São Paulo, the investment promotion agency associated with the Department of Economic Development, Science, Technology and Innovation.

The agency has been assisting Better Beef primarily on tax, infrastructure and environmental matters, since the company is concerned about complying with all the legal requirements necessary for the expansion.

In Presidente Bernardes, the company expects to expand the number of covered confinement positions from 12,000 to 29,000  over five years. During this process, a total of R$ 64 million will be invested in items such as water tanks and pipes, supplies for the production of feed, adaptation of animals, among other improvements.

In Rancharia, the purpose of the expansion is to increase the unit’s deboning capacity, initiating the export of products to China and Europe.
