On May 5th, the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce will host the seminar Brazil-Tunisia: Perspectives in Economic and Commercial Cooperation at its headquarters in São Paulo. The event is open to interested companies.

The meeting, held in partnership with the embassy of Tunisia in Brasília, will tackle trade and investment opportunities between Brazil and the Arab country. Attending authorities will include Hassine Bouzid, president of the Brazil-Tunisia Business Council, and Riadh Attia, and the joint CEO of the Tunisia Export Promotion Center (Cepex), among others.

Sabri Bachtobji, the Tunisian ambassador in Brasília, says officials from four government agencies in his country will attend. In addition to Cepex personnel, delegates will be present from the Tunisian Union for Commerce, Industry and Handicrafts in Tunis (Utica), the Agency for Agricultural Investment Promotion (Apia) and the National Oil Office. “This is the first time we will have this many commercial promotion organizations [at once in Brazil],” said the diplomat, who will be one of the speakers.

“We will show all of the opportunities we have, which have arisen now that we have a stable government and a new, recently elected president,” the ambassador said in a reference to the election held in Tunisia in 2014. “We are experiencing a period of stability and this is a good time to investment and engage in trade,” he stressed.

At the end of the seminar, the Brazil-Tunisia Business Council will be renewed, with attendance from members from both sides. According to Bachtobji, with the renovation, decisions will be made regarding joint activities to be undertaken or encouraged, such as the participation of companies from both companies in trade shows and missions.
