Investe São Paulo

Governor Geraldo Alckmin announced, together with the City Hall of Americana, on Friday 11, the implementation of a Doosan Infracore plant in the municipality, located 120 km from the capital. The installation of the company has the support of Investe São Paulo, the São Paulo Agency for the Promotion of Investments and Competitiveness responsible for attracting investments for the State, subject to the Secretariat of Economic Development, Science and Technology. "The Pró-Veículos program is a success and it has attracted many automotive companies that generate many jobs and higher salaries. Besides Doosan here in Americana, we also have Hyundai in Piracicaba, and Toyota in Sorocaba", said Alckmin.

The construction of the first Doosan Infracore plant in Latin America will receive an investment of US$ 60 million (nearly R$ 100 million) with annual capacity to produce 2 thousand DX 225 LCA excavator model. "We chose Brazil to start our production in the continent and we chose the State of São Paulo because of its consumer market, its excellent infrastructure and a wide supply chain", explains the Director of projects for South America of Doosan Infracore, Dong Hoon Lee.

According to the Vice-Governor and Secretary of Economic Development, Science and Technology, Guilherme Afif Domingos, São Paulo offers many attractions for the setting up of new undertakings. "Besides offering facilities with its consolidated infrastructure and a strong and competitive market, the State features research centers among the best in the world, which allows obtaining technological advances, thus attracting so many investments without causing tax war", he emphasizes.

According to the company, nearly 300 direct jobs will be generated. "We are in contact with the suppliers of Doosan, so that they get installed near the undertaking and therefore, generating more jobs and income for the population of the region", says the President of Investe São Paulo, Luciano Almeida.

The plant will be located in the industrial district São Jerônimo, on a 160 thousand square meter lot. The built-up area of the undertaking will be of nearly 50 thousand square meters and it should go into operation by the end of 2012. "Americana has not received an investment like that in years. The installation of Doosan Infracore opens doors for new businesses in town and we are ready for the moment. We have recently approved the Municipal Program for the Attraction of Corporate Investment (Promaie) and last year we created the Municipal Government Partner of the Productive Sector (Pasepro). Those are measures that will cause Americana to become reference again in the attraction of new investments and in job creation", says the Mayor of Americana, Diego De Nadai.
