One of the State of São Paulo's competitive advantages is the cover provided by its telecom services infrastructure, which integrates the State to the rest of the world through quality and fast links. GSM and 3G coverage encompasses the entire State. 4G technology is being tested in some locations and will soon be available.
The majority of the São Paulo Metropolitan Area and the principle municipalities in the State interior and coast have complete mobile, land-line and broadband coverage. São Paulo represents 24% of the Country's mobile phone access and 39% and 28% of Brazil's fixed and mobile broadband access, respectively, according to 2012 data released by the Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (National Telecommunications Agency) – (Anatel).
