Voltalia eyes solar energy and transmission lines auctions in Brazil

Valor International

French renewable-energy generator Voltalia plans to participate in auctions of solar energy and small hydropower plants in Brazil, in addition to wind power bids. The company also evaluates the possibility of investing in partnership with other companies in the construction of transmission lines to transport power of future wind farms. Voltalia opens officially this Wednesday its Vamcruz wind complex, of 93MW, in Serra do Mel, Rio Grande do Norte. It has already been operating since November 2015. Voltalia intends to issue infrastructure bonds in the second half linked to the project, whose investment was not disclosed. Brazil currently accounts for almost 70% of the French company’s global revenue, which amounted to €55 million in 2015.
