Sarstedt lays the cornerstone of its first Brazilian unit

With the support from Investe São Paulo, German company starts the construction works of the new plant in Porto Feliz

On June 30, the Sarstedt Group, a German global medical technology company focused on disposable products and instruments used in science and medicine, held a cornerstone ceremony to mark the beginning of the construction works of its first plant in Brazil and also in Latin America, in the city of Porto Feliz (SP).

The plant is expected to produce large part of the current products in the company’s portfolio for the domestic market and also for other Latin American countries. The project relies on the support from Investe São Paulo.

The Agency has carried out an extensive work with the company, from the location of an adequate area to the provision of strategic information essential for the project. During the event, the Investment Manager, William Welsch, represented Investe SP along with authorities, such as the mayor of Porto Feliz, Cássio Habice Prado and the directors of Sarstedt Vicente Mazzeu and Jörg Dreisewerd. According to the company’s executives, the Brazilian plant is an investment on the success of the national economy in the future, with the possibility of bringing in new production lines and expansions of the plant in the coming years.
