The president of Investe São Paulo, Juan Quirós, confirmed to Spain's Deputy Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Jesús Gracia Aldaz, in a meeting held at the head office of Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp), in the state capital, on March 25, that this is the perfect time for Spanish companies to invest in São Paulo and in Brazil. In addition to transmitting optimism to all members of the Spanish delegation, Quirós scheduled a meeting with the team in The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex) to upgrade economic context data on the Iberian country, which will be the basis for the next rounds of integration.

Spain is one of the leading issuers of foreign direct investment in Brazil, especially in the energy and telecommunications sectors, among others. The delegation stressed that Spain has faced moments of crisis and is already under recovery, showing significant results in its economy.

Quirós, who also attended a meeting of FIESP's Strategic Council in the morning, presented the new and greater assignments of Investe São Paulo to the Spanish stakeholders and said that he will narrow the conversation to develop business facilitation agreements that include medium-sized enterprises. "Let's open access to medium-sized enterprises and, together, we shall overcome the red tape", he said.

The Spanish delegation was also formed by Manuel de la Cámara, Ambassador of Spain in Brazil; Pablo Gómez Olea, Director General of Foreign Policy for Iberoamerica; Fernando Salazar, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Spanish Embassy in Brasilia; Ana Raquel Garcia Rubio, Economic Counselor of the Spanish Embassy in São Paulo; Félix Costales, secretary general of Fundação Conselho Espanha-Brasil and the Consul General of Spain in São Paulo, Ricardo Vásquez.
