The new project will double the operating capacity of Premium in Valinhos

On February 24, Premium Distribuidora held the cornerstone ceremony of a new distribution center in Valinhos, which will have three times the size of the current unit in the city. The company is investing R$ 6 million in the project, which will generate 50 new direct jobs and 100 indirect jobs.

The project relies on the support from Investe São Paulo, the export and investment promotion agency of the São Paulo State Government. “The partnership we have with Valinhos is an example of the importance of the relationship of municipalities with us. The best service provided to investors is always the one that joins forces of different government levels,” said the president of the agency, Juan Quirós.

Currently, with its units located in Praia Grande, São José dos Campos and Ribeirão Preto, Premium serves 245 cities in São Paulo – 70 of them through Valinhos. The company has a warehouse in the city that covers 2,000 square meters, where approximately three trucks arrive and ten departure on a daily basis. But the intention is that, with the new construction and a building of 6,000 square meters, this capacity doubles by 2017.

“Our operations have grown significantly, and we needed a larger site, not only for distribution, but also to centralize other areas of the company, such as call center, credit and collections, procurement, etc., which are spread out among the four units,” said Luciano Lucianelli, managing partner of the company.

According to him, the choice of Valinhos was strategic mainly because it is located in an industrial hub with access to some of the main state highways, such as Bandeirantes, Santos Dumont, Dom Pedro and Anhanguera. “The city’s welcoming, with the incentive plan for investments, was also key to the decision,” he said.

“Valinhos is honored to host this important Distribution Center that serves the entire region. With the support from Investe SP, we are managing to attract increasingly more investments to our city, with responsible and non-polluting companies that are in line with the aspirations and vocation of our city. We are living in a new era, and soon, the city will reap the economic results of attracting new investments,” said the mayor of Valinhos, Clayton Machado.

The construction works of the center will last between ten and twelve months. The opening is scheduled for January. Premium Distribuidora reports revenues of approximately R$ 100 million in the state per year, with R$ 40 million only in Valinhos. The expectation is that by the end of 2017, with the expansion, this figure increases to R$ 50 million.
