Mayor of Torrinha presents city differentials to attract investments

On March 26, the mayor of Torrinha, Thiago Rochiti, visited the headquarters of Investe São Paulo, in the State Capital, and met with Juan Quirós, president of the State agency. The meeting aimed to discuss the city's social and economic development and differentials of the municipality to receive new investments from the private sector.
Since February this year, Investe SP is conducting a survey on the vocation of municipalities to attract investment. "By understanding the differences of municipalities and the economic sectors that they wish to focus, we are able to guide the investment in the best possible way. Thus, we have greater chances of attracting companies that meet the strategic planning of municipalities to the region", noted Quirós.
Torrinha was the first municipality in the state to submit its economic vocation to Investe São Paulo. During the meeting, the mayor recognized the work of Investe SP in attracting investments and remarked the city's differentials:
"Our city is geared primarily towards the cultivation of coffee and citrus fruits. Through the partnership with Investe São Paulo, our goal is to stimulate the economy by bringing companies related to this kind of production to the municipality", said Rochiti.
Area of Municipalities
In order to promote further interaction between local governments and Investe SP, the State Agency launched the Área das Prefeituras hot site in the beginning of the year, which is hosted within Investe São Paulo's website. Through this tool, municipalities may register the land to be presented to investors and report issues relating to municipal tax laws, master plan and outline the investments announced in 645 cities.
Other meetings
On the same day, the director of Investe São Paulo, Sergio Costa, also received the mayor of Conchas, Odirlei Reis. At the time, the city government representatives discussed the city's vocation and ways to leverage the region's economic development.
