The announcement was attended by the representatives of the company, Investe SP and the governor Geraldo Alckmin

On Thursday, August 3 , during a meeting with the Governor of the State of São Paulo Geraldo Alckmin, L’Occitane do Brasil announced an investment in the project of a factory in Brazil, one of the five countries with the highest growth and representativeness of the L’Occitane Group.

The plant will be located in the city of Itupeva (São Paulo), near the Group’s Distribution Center in Brazil, and will occupy an area of 23,000 square meters. The unit will focus on the production of the L’Occitane au Brésil lines, while the group intends to maintain partnerships with third-party suppliers for the development of certain categories.

The cornerstone ceremony of the plant will be held by the company in the first half of September.

Investe São Paulo, the investment and export promotion agency associated with the Department of Economic Development, Science, Technology and Innovation of the State of São Paulo has been advising L’Occitane do Brasil with strategic information and in the dialogue with key entities for the success of the project, especially in relation to infrastructure and environmental licensing matters.

“We have been working side by side with L’Occitane do Brasil to assist it in all relationships deemed essential to the success of the project. The factory will allow them to be directly in contact with the largest consumer market in Latin America and will contribute to further boost our economy,” says Sérgio Costa, director of the Agency.

With this initiative, the Group intends to increase its presence in the Brazilian market, as well as invest in the country’s development and increasingly attract Brazilians, with its expertise and quality cosmetics.

The construction works are expected to begin later this year, and the operations should start in 2019, stimulating the city of Itupeva and its local economy. “It is an honor to welcome a company of this size that will generate more jobs and income for Itupeva. Our first talk with the representatives of L’Occitane do Brasil was during the anniversary of the city and, for this reason, I consider it a gift to the population. We also thank Investe São Paulo and the City Council for their support,” said mayor Marcão Marchi.
