The authorities highlighted the work of Quirós in the management of Apex Brazil in the recovery of the Brazilian trade balance

One of the latest missions of Investe São Paulo, to encourage exports in the state, drew the attention of the participants of the debate promoted by the Business Leadership Group – Lide – held on April 27 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, in São Paulo.

The event, led by João Doria, was attended by more than 130 executives and vice presidents from national and foreign companies.

Everyone wanted to know the new assignments, determined by decree by governor Geraldo Alckmin, which will also encourage small and medium companies in São Paulo to put their products in the foreign market. The initiative was complimented by the former Minister of Industry and Trade, Luiz Fernando Furlan, for helping the economy precisely in a scenario of difficulties:

“From what I know about the work of the president of Investe São Paulo, Juan Quirós, who worked with me at Apex (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), in the Ministry, I know it will provide good results”.

Furlan recalled that the potential for growth is huge: “From the nearly 7 million companies in Brazil, only 20,000 export. It is very little. And São Paulo concentrates 65% of Brazilian exports. This shows the strength of the state and the importance given by the governor to Investe São Paulo”.

The current president of Apex, David Barioni Neto, said that this year, Brazil exported US$ 225 billion, and out of this total, 28% is the result of the actions promoted by Apex, the so-called “immunized” companies, in the jargon of the federal agency.
Barioni said that Juan Quirós and the minister Furlam traveled the world when they worked in the Ministry and managed to make the country have followed surpluses in that period.

Representing the Minister of Industry and Trade, Armando Monteiro, the executive secretary of the Ministry, Ivan Ramalho, also highlighted the new role of Investe São Paulo and said he was available to help sell the products from São Paulo to the world.
Ivan Ramalho answered several questions from the audience. He talked about the existing potential in Latin America, Europe and also in the United States, whose economy is experiencing a period of recovery. The event was attended by directors Sergio Costa and Ermínio Lucci from Investe SP.
