The potential of the municipalities at northeastern São Paulo were some of the issues discussed at the meeting held last Monday, February 23, between the President of Investe São Paulo, Juan Quirós, the Federal Deputy, William Campos, and the mayors of Patrocínio Paulista, Marcos Antônio Ferreira, and Santo Antônio da Alegria, Ricardo da Silva Sobrinho, new president of Comam – Consórcio de Municípios da Alta Mogiana.
"São Paulo's countryside is a strategic region for the State's economic development Of the 96 projects conducted by Investe São Paulo to date, only four are in the state capital, which shows the strength of the countryside. For us to continue growing and increasing the attraction of foreign and domestic investment, it is important to understand the economic vocation of the municipalities in this region", said Quirós.
The meeting, which was also attended by the director of Investe SP, Sergio Costa, aimed to bring close together the municipal administrations of the state government agency responsible for assisting with projects of private companies and presenting the advantages of cities in São Paulo in attracting new investments.
"We are excited about the seriousness with which Investe São Paul addresses the investment issue. We trust this technical work and believe this partnership will bring many results for our region", said the mayor of Santo Antônio da Alegria.
The mayor of Patrocínio Paulista also emphasized the importance of establishing partnerships between the municipality and Investe São Paulo. "Starting today, we will enhance the dialogue and identify the vocation of the municipalities in the region for greater allocation of investments to the area and thus economic development", he remarked.
During the meeting, they discussed the potential of the cities of Patrocínio Paulista and Santo Antônio da Alegria to receive new enterprises, as well as the registration of the municipalities on the online tool Área das Prefeituras. At the time, Encontre um Sócio was also introduced, which is a portal developed by Investe São Paulo to help small and mid-size entrepreneurs in São Paulo to find business partners, investors, representatives, distributors and partners for transferring technology in any sector of the economy and at any place in the country and the world.
