On September 19, the Portuguese Chamber and Investe São Paulo entered into a memorandum of understanding with the purpose of increasing the investment flow between the two regions and strengthen the diplomatic relations.

In the opening of the meeting, the president of the Portuguese Chamber, Ricardo Espírito Santo, reinforced the importance of actions like this that help developing the economic potential of the countries involved. “The execution of the memorandum marks the beginning of a long lasting and increasingly stronger partnership,” he said.

The president of Investe São Paulo, Luciano Almeida, introduced the structure of the agency to the guests. In addition to presenting the historical data of the agency, Almeida highlighted the exchange program between employees, which allowed a project analyst from Investe SP to spend two months in Portugal working at Aicep, the Investment and Foreign Trade Agency of Portugal. The initiative granted to Investe SP the award for the most innovative practice of IPA Innovation Awards, awarded by FDI Magazine.

Almeida also introduced the new website Find a Business Partner. Launched this year, the website aims to assist the interaction of small and medium companies who are looking for a partner, a company for technology transfer or representative.
The delegation was also invited to participate in the 3rd Investe São Paulo Award, which will take place at Sala São Paulo, on December 3, to honor companies that were assisted by Investe SP and have already started operations in their projects. Check out the latest edition of the event.

The execution of the memorandum ended the event and aims to generate future actions so that the Portuguese companies invest more in São Paulo’s market. Currently, Investe São Paulo has entered into memorandums with entities from other eleven countries.

The event, which was part of a series of actions that the Portuguese entity held this week at Tivolli Hotel, was attended by the board members of the Portuguese Chamber, the Consul-General of Portugal in São Paulo, Paulo Lourenço, and the director of Aicep, Carlos Moura.
