The project received an investment of R$ 10 million and already employs 20 people

The German multinational SAERTEX® announced on November 13 that it started the operations of its newly built plant in Indaiatuba, about 100 km from the state capital. The plant produces glass fiber multiaxial fabrics used mainly in the wind energy, automotive, marine, transportation and infrastructure sectors.

The project, which investment totaled R$ 10 million and that already provided 20 job opportunities so far, relied on the support of Investe São Paulo, the State Government investment promotion agency associated with the Department of Economic Development, Science, Technology and Innovation.

“We helped the company find the most suitable location for the investment, and the region of Campinas has always been a priority for them due to the proximity to the Port of Santos and the international airport of Viracopos. SAERTEX® will help nationalize the production chain of various industries in the state, generating value added to our products and stimulating the economy,” said the president of Investe SP, Luciano Almeida.

The new plant is the company’s first manufacturing facility in Latin America, and was built on an area covering 3,000 square meters, with 2,500 square meters of manufacturing area. According to the director the unit, Arnaud Daniel Juchler, there is an evident growth in the wind energy market, and other sectors in which the company wishes to operate are growing in Brazil, and this was what most motivated the decision to invest in the country. In addition, SAERTEX® already established good relationships with Brazilian clients, which until then imported the products from other plants of the company. However, the idea is to advance in winning new clients and markets.

“For SAERTEX® Brazil, we plan a production capacity of 15,000 tons in 2015, to meet the companies in the wind energy, transportation, marine and infrastructure segments,” said the CEO of SAERTEX® USA, LLC Dr. Christian Kissinger. The material produced by SAERTEX Brazil consists of fabrics with weights and specifications developed according to the needs of each client and are used in the blades of wind energy turbines, structures of aircraft wings, bus carcasses, among others.

“The construction of the plant in Indaiatuba will contribute to the development of the State, through the relationship with local companies and the creation of direct and indirect jobs, stimulating the economy and generating income for the region,” said the State Secretary of Economic Development, Science, Technology and Innovation, Nelson Baeta Neves Filho.

“Today, we now an impeccable infrastructure to welcome large manufacturing developments, as is the case of Saertex, we offer tax incentives and all the logistical support for the implementation of new plants, adding stimulus to the development of the municipality and therefore the State of São Paulo,” said the mayor of Indaiatuba, Reinaldo Nogueira.

“The plant was built in a strategic location with access to an excellent rail network that facilitates the flow of goods. Not to mention the local qualified workforce and the urban development of the city,” said Juchler. According to the executive, the plant can be expanded in the future depending on the market growth. He also explained that the company’s priority is to meet the domestic market.
