The evento had the purpose of fostering exports by the businesses established in the city

The producer of handmade smoked products, Leandro Oliveira Spinassi, from the district of Caxambu, is aware of the potential of his products, but says he never thought he could export them to other countries. On Thursday, March 01, 2018, he arrived early at the auditorium of the DAE, the venue of the event called Exporta Mais Jundiaí (Export More Jundiaí), promoted by the municipal government with the purpose of fostering exports by the businesses established in the city. “Based on the information provided here, I believe it is possible for us to export. I’m very excited about this possibility,” he said.

Anderson Pinheiro, from Karioka do Brasil, one of the companies of the Incubator of Jundiaí, also attended the presentations. He said his initial goal was to seek information about the foreign market. “Our focus is Colombia, which consumes many Brazilian products. I found the initiative of the event very interesting,” he said.

During the opening of Exporta Mais Jundiaí, International Cooperation adviser, Carmelo Paoletti Neto, said that the event was intended to provide access to qualified information on the subject in order to encourage local businesses to seek other markets for their products. “There is a lot of potential to be explored and we are aware of that,” he said.

According to Mayor Luiz Fernando Machado, one of the highlights of the event was the quality of the speakers. “We are living an important moment of recovery of the economy and it’s crucial to enable businesses to interact with professionals directly related to the export world, with the capacity to act as speakers during the sale of products to other countries,” he said.

The head of the Municipal Executive Office said that all initiatives aimed at generating new business in the city, and thus create jobs and income for the citizens of Jundiaí, have full support of the current administration. “Businesses can rely on the municipal government to overcome any challenges that may exist for the expansion of their business,” added Luiz Fernando.

Presentations The first to provide information to the business owners attending the event was the director of Investe SP, Sérgio Costa. He said that in Jundiaí there are a number of companies with “highly exportable” products that can “help transform the economy of the city”. The director talked about the work developed by Investe SP, which promotes new investments in the state of São Paulo.

Next, the business consultant of Desenvolve SP, Cíntia Kishimoto, spoke about the credit facilities available at the agency for businesses that wish to export and also for those seeking working capital. “We work with sustainable credit, with low interest rates and long payment terms,” he explained. Until December 2017, the development agency of São Paulo had already released R$ 2.7 billion in credit facilities to businesses, said Cíntia.

The third speaker was Maria Cristina Moraes, foreign trade assistant at the Brazilian postal service, Correios. She spoke about Exporta Fácil, a service offered by Correios for micro and small business owners, and reinforced the need for those interested in exporting to be prepared. “It is essential to have the company regularized and a customs partner defined, for example. The idea is to start exporting with us and then grow and generate jobs and income,” he said.

The event also featured a talk by a tax analyst of the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service, Carlos Eduardo Assini, who talked about the types of exports, and the regional manager of Sebrae, Thiago Farias, who discussed the possibilities of exporting to Colombia.
