Debate on competitiveness gathers nearly 80 entrepreneurs in Guarujá

President of Investe São Paulo introduces the website Find a Business Partner and discusses how to leverage the development of the city and surrounding region

How to promote the development of Guarujá and bring new investors to the region. This was the main theme of the institutional meeting organized by the municipality that gathered nearly 80 entrepreneurs at Casa Grande Hotel for a presentation made by the president of Investe São Paulo, Luciano Almeida.
“The exploitation of Pre-Salt is a unique opportunity for the municipalities of Santos and Region, but not the only one. The region also needs to invest in tourism, leisure and other critical factors of competitiveness,” said the executive.

In addition to showing to the participants the services offered by Investe São Paulo to investors and the newly created website Find a Business Partner – a tool that aims to create new business opportunities to entrepreneurs in São Paulo, Almeida also put the competitiveness of Guarujá and the entire state of São Paulo under discussion.

“It is part of the mission of Investe São Paulo, in addition to encouraging the productive investment, suggest public policies that contribute to the economic development of the state of São Paulo. And that is why we created the Competitiveness Council of São Paulo” he said.

The Competitiveness Council of São Paulo is a joint committee established by the State Government to join the private sector in pursuit of public policies that promote economic competitiveness and the attraction of new investments. The organization is chaired by the Governor and gather 40 representatives of the private sector and eight members of public entities.

The presentation was organized by the municipality of Guarujá with the Management of Business Development and International Relations of Investe São Paulo. It was attended by representatives of the Chamber of Retail Managers of Guarujá (CDL), the Commercial and Business Association of Guarujá (ACEG), the local Center of Industries of São Paulo State (CIESP) and the Brazilian Service of Support to Micro and Small Enterprises (Sebrae).
