ABB eyeing infrastructure projects in Brazil

The Swiss-Swedish industrial conglomerate ABB continues to focus on growth opportunities in Brazil, given the many infrastructure projects the country has to offer this year, Greg Scheu, ABB's president for the Americas, said in an interview with Valor. Among the sectors targeted, Mr. Scheu highlighted the power industry, in which ABB has a large stake in transmission equipment, as well as mining, oil, food and beverage and paper and pulp. "We will not typically bid on a transmission auction, but we will make partnerships with those who participate," said Mr. Scheu, who attended the ABB Customer World (ACW) event in Houston, Texas, this week.
